Well, the birthday was great. I slept in, mom and I spent the day together, Lucas came home and I won $60 at bar bingo. Pretty much perfect if you ask me.
Lucas then surprised me with a weekend away which consisted of HIM finding a place to go, booking a hotel, finding a place for dinner, and capping off the night with tickets to a play. He did such a good job, I was one happy girl. After the play we picked up a bottle of wine and watched a movie and fell asleep. Party animals I tell ya.
Yesterday, however, I got zero love from him. After the weekend and how great it was, a card would have been perfect. That's all I would have wanted and/or needed. But nope. And I know this makes me sound like a whiney girl, but whatever....I just felt bad. Especially after I gave him his present Sunday morning: a card, a road atlas to plan out our driving honeymoon trip and Secretariat (which he told me he really wanted to see). Simple things, inexpensive things, but things that took thought. So whatever....I told him this and he apologized.
In other news, my sister-in-law-to-be started a website. She had a stroke in September and has been writing on her Caring Bridge site ever since. Now, she decided to move on from that and start her own website! I'm so proud of her and all she's accomplished so far. If you want to read about a 33-year-old stroke victim and her ins and outs of her daily life check out Allie's Story here. She's funny, she has an interesting outlook on things and I just love her. She made me laugh yesterday again, as usual!
